Waste: types, risks, and disposal methods

Waste: types, risks, and disposal

Waste is a total waste of humanitarian

activities, domestic and agricultural and

industrial productivity,  all the movables left

or abandoned somewhere, and left

threatening and detrimental to health and

public safety.

Types of waste:

Waste is divided into several types in terms of

severity or quality, including:

1 Waste offices : is the sum of material that

does not constitute a serious environmental

problems exist , and easy to get rid of them in

an environmentally safe manner .

2 Solid waste : the waste material

of metal or glass ... produced for domestic

and industrial waste and agricultural ... They

need to be hundreds of years of

decomposition , and their presence poses an

environmental risk .

3 Liquid waste : liquid substances are

formed through the use of water in industrial

processes and various agricultural . Including:

oils , water and sanitation . They received in

estuarine water in rivers or the sea .

4 Waste gas : These are gases or vapors

resulting from manufacturing workshops ,

which escalated into the air through the flue

own factories . One of these gases : carbon

monoxide , sulfur dioxide , oxides of nitrogen

and the solid particles suspended in the air

and some  various metal atoms .

The reasons for the spread of waste :

Of the reasons that lead to the spread of

· Rapid industrial progress and the high

amount of industrial waste, and not being

able to get rid of them at the same speed .

· Adoption of methods of improper waste

disposal , such as incineration , waste

dumping in the seas and rivers , throw waste

in landfills , and the absence of a sense of

responsibility when mayors , they do not find

radical solutions to this serious environmental

problem .

· Lack of effective action to reduce this

problem , based on activities and individual

judgments on the levels of small and specific

areas .

· The absence of strict laws that prohibit

littering and punish violators to pay fines or

imprisonment .

· Inability to absorb the vast amount of waste

in the landfill one .

· Slow in getting rid of waste and uncle having

enough events , The towns does not collect

waste only once a week in some areas.

· Citizens neglect and lack of awareness of the

size of the environmental problem

caused by the waste.

The fate of the waste:

1- Effluent: Ending to the sea or rivers.

2- Solid waste: discarded in landfills.

3- Waste gas: rising into the air.

Effects resulting from the

contamination of waste:

Air pollution: waste that lead to the

formation of methane gas, which is rising in

the air, spreading into the atmosphere and

lead to air pollution. And the effects of this

 1- acid rain.

 2- global warming.

3- the spread of respiratory diseases.

4- high rate of injuries, nose, chest and heart

Water Pollution: The throw waste in the

rivers, especially industrial waste,

agricultural, chemical, lead to water

pollutionAnd the effects of this pollution:

1- elimination of life in the water bodies.

2- poisoning fish and thus a poisoning of the human being.

Soil pollution: waste is disposed of by

burning or burial, toxic materials into the

ground, contaminating the soil. And the

effects of this pollution

1- lack of validity of the soil for planting.

2- groundwater contamination.

3- threat vegetation.

4- deterioration of agricultural production

and thus the economic level.

5- desertification and erosion.
